It has been revealed that the Impact Hammer's alt-fire will charge an EMP burst that can disable vehicles or knock powerups off of players. It is unknown if it will be able to deflect certain projectiles or not.

Techniques and Tricks
Piston Jump: Shoot at the ground while jumping to jump extra high.
Piston Dodge: Dodge and Piston Jump at the same time to gain extra speed when escaping from enemies' base in CTF matches.
Trivia
Watch out for Piston Camp near a teleporter.
Impact hammer is often used in Telepunt.
