Umm... there's alot of weapons in that list that can't possibly be catagorized as "spammy." I'm not pr0 by any measure, but even I know that a weapon can't qualify as being "spammy" simply because it shoots projectiles. Please correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know, "spammy" weapons are weapons that shoot projectiles in such a way that it is difficult to avoid, especially at close range. "Spam" is also a technique of using spam weapons to one's advantage, as well as firing wildly in the general direction of a target in hopes that a few of the many projectiles will hit. -- BobTheBeheader

I think there would have been merit in leaving the page up a little longer until the rest of us got to examine what you did.

The purpose of this page?  Isn't it obvious enough?  Whenever I write a gametype page, there's always a section about what items you can find, and there are always references to SuperWeapons, "Deathmatch" weapons, and "Onslaught" weapons. I figured there'd be people who didn't know what that meant, so that's how I got the idea for this page... then, when I started writing the page, it seemed like a good place to include a definition of hitscan and spam.  All of this page's information is relevant and important.  If anyone thinks the page should be renamed, that's your prerogative.

I mostly just removed all the links to weapons. I copied the text of the page as I left it exactly to :Category:Weapons if you would like to review it. --Sir Brizz 02:35, 1 August 2007 (EDT)

I think it makes more sense to define hitscan and projectile weapons on separate pages. That way a separate link for each can be provided for the correct weapon. Super weapons can be defined as projectiles as they are not instant hit and have a blast radius. The "hitspam" stuff isn't what I would call a real category either. There are only two real categories, projectile and hitscan.

I think weapon like minigun or link gun deserves their own category. You have instantly aim at the opponent instead of simple click (hit-scan) at the enemy or use your prediction (projectile) so you know where will the enemy be in the next moment.

Hitscan and projectile shouldn't always indicate how the gun is used in the games. Both are technical terms. You either code a weapon's fire type to be hitscan or projectile. It has nothing to do with rate of fire or aiming strategy.
