Striders were one of the three races dropped from the final version of Unreal 2: The Awakening along with The_Shian and The_N.

Description

Striders were originally biomechanical beings that grew their own armour and weapons. Individually quite weak a group of Strider Pods could combine to become a Strider Villian which was a much more formidable foe. Groups of Strider Villains would combine to become a Strider Nemesis which was much more powerful again.

The larger Strider monsters would navigate around obstacles and through small openings by disassembling into their smaller components and reassemble on the other side.

No concept art was released nor were any detailed physical descriptions given.

Despite never seeing Striders in the game,they played an important role in the backstory of Aida who ended the "Strider Wars" at the expense of a civilian colony.
