Template talk:Infobox Tournament Character
From Liandri Archives
Given the multiple skins available, you have to be careful with specific color like is used here. It's not a big issue since we removed the red styles, but could become an issue again if the future. Feel free to request custom color/style classes on the talk page for MediaWiki:Beyondunreal.css. --Haarg 22:23, 24 July 2007 (EDT)
I don't know if specifying "birth dates" is the appropriate thing to do here. Birth dates are typically never mentioned, only ages, and since there are some discrepancies about age, especially between UT and UC, it makes more sense to list that on a per game basis. We also don't know how ages are determined in the Unreal Universe, so it's impossible to assume what their birth years actually are. --Sir Brizz 11:23, 31 July 2007 (EDT)
Questions/Notes
Now this template and overall character descriptions seem to be unordered. So I have a few things to mention here:
- Why does this template add a Category:Tournament Character category? Not all characters are from Tournament, like Anubis. Of course, the name of this template is Template:Infobox_Tournament_Character but in my opinion it should be renamed to Template:Infobox_Character or something like that as it's pretty much universal. And the singular form in the added category name isn't quite right too, if it was to stay it should be named at least Category:Tournament Characters.
- Since when do characters get a new separate page? Now the Category:Tournament Character seems to be very unordered, it has some articles that are not even meant to be there (for example WarBoss), and it's missing some well-known characters (for example, Sapphire). I'd say that characters should get a separate page if they are either the main characters in a story (for example Reaper), if they are seen in many games (I'd say >2, for example, Brock) and maybe if they're the leader of a team (for example Scythe).
- We need a perfect character article to be an example to others. I think that if the character appears in many games, all of the appearances should be listed, along with all of their descriptions from each games and a real description by the article's author. That should be informative enough to give the readers a good view of the character's history and its character ( :) ). What do you think?
Oops, forgot to sign. And any replies? It's really unordered. --GreatEmerald 11:40, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
- Any opinions about this, people? --GreatEmerald 07:00, 12 March 2009 (EDT)
