UnrealEd, commonly known as UEd, is a program produced by Epic Games which relies on the Unreal Engine. It is a stand-alone program which allows level designers to create levels for the game that corresponds with the editor. UnrealEd comes in several Unreal-related flavors:
- UnrealEd 1
- Thrown out because it sucked.
- UnrealEd 2.0
- Used for
- UnrealEd2.5
- Used for
- UnrealEd 3
- Used until UT3.
- UT3Ed
- Used for UT3.
In addition, modified versions of each (except UEd 1) were licensed to other game developers and used in various games. Each Unreal Engine game comes packaged with its appropriate Editor. No two editors are compatible.
Support for each version of the Editor is supplied by the Unreal Developers' Network (UDN).
Discussion and Comments
IceCreamYou: There should probably be a separate page for each version of UEd listing the various changes etc.
