Nightmare

The Nightmare are a team of Grand Liandri Tournament competitors during the time of Unreal Tournament 2003/Unreal Tournament 2004.

They Nightmare are the Liandri Mining Corporation's failed attempt at reproducing the Necris process. The result was a number of artificial species such as the Homo Sapien Taratis, Homo Sapiens Medusae, and Cybernetic Humans. Known individuals are: Abaddon, Brutalis, Domina, Fate, Harlequin, Lilith, Mr.Crow, and Subversa.

Early information suggested that the Nightmare came from a lava planet called Purgatory or Abaddon, which is featured in some of the game's maps, but this was probably just misinformation released by the Liandri to try and cover up the experiment.

The Liandri abandoned the project and resorted to paying the Necris insane amounts of money to bring back the public's favorite Tournament contestants, such as Lauren, Brock, and Selket.
